Chapter 1 - Prathama Charitra

सर्वमङ्गलमाङ्गल्ये शिवे सर्वार्थसाधिके। शरण्ये त्र्यम्बके गौरि नारायणि नमोऽस्तु ते।
Transliteration
sarvamaṅgalamāṅgalye śive sarvārthasādhike. śaraṇye tryambake gauri nārāyaṇi namo'stu te.
Meaning / Translation
Salutations to you, O Narayani, who is the embodiment of all auspiciousness, who is the benefactress of all, and who is the refuge for all.
Chapter 1 - Prathama Charitra

रथमेरुहस्तेन देवि पर्वतराजसुताप्रिये। तव स्नेहेन सहायेन नमामि त्वामिह सरस्वतिम्।
Transliteration
ratham eruhastena devi parvatarājasutāpriye. tava snehena sahāyena namāmi tvāmiha sarasvatim.
Meaning / Translation
With the help of your love, I bow to you, O Saraswati, who is dear to the son of the king of mountains and who holds the chariot and the goad in your hand.
Chapter 2 - Dvitiya Charitra

तव प्रसादाद्देवेशि मयि प्रजायेत कालि। त्वयि प्रसन्ने सुरेशि त्वामावहयामि सततम्।
Transliteration
tava prasādāddevēśi mayi prajāyēta kāli. tvayi prasannē surēśi tvāmāvahayāmi satatam.
Meaning / Translation
By your blessings, O Goddess, I shall have children, and when you are pleased, O Goddess of the gods, I shall invoke you always.
Chapter 3 - Triteeya Charitra

अथास्या नामसहस्रं पठतां पापनाशनम्। प्रातर्निशि द्विजश्रेष्ठ पठेत्सप्तशतीकृतम्।
Transliteration
athāsyā nāmasahasraṁ paṭhatāṁ pāpanāśanam. prātarniśi dvijaśrēṣṭha paṭhetsaptashatīkṛtam.
Meaning / Translation
The thousand names of the Goddess, which destroy sin, should be recited by the best of the twice-born, morning and night, and also the seven hundred verses.
Chapter 4 - Chaturtha Charitra

प्राची दिशि प्रतिच्छन्ना प्रज्ञा च प्रत्यगात्मिका। पूर्वसूर्याग्निसंयुक्ता पावकात्मा प्रतापिनी।
Transliteration
prācī diśi praticchannā prajñā ca pratyagātmikā. pūrvasūryāgnisaṁyuktā pāvakātmā pratāpinī.

In the eastern direction, the knowledge of the Self is hidden, and the Self is joined with the fire of the rising sun, and it shines with great splendor.

दधाना दिशमास्त्राणां ब्रह्मस्थाने चतुर्मुखम्। ब्रह्माणं ब्रह्मदायिनं ब्रह्मभूये प्रतिष्ठितम्।

dadānā diśamāstrāṇāṁ brahmasthāne caturmukham. brahmāṇaṁ brahmadāyinaṁ brahmabhūye pratiṣṭhitam.
Meaning / Translation
Holding the directions and the weapons, the four-faced Brahma is established in the place of Brahman, and he is the giver of Brahman and is established in Brahman.

सूर्यस्य प्रभया देवी यातुधानप्रमथनी। शात्रवानां महाभीतेर्विद्राविणी भयापहा।

sūryasya prabhayā devī yātudhānapramathinī. śātravāṇāṁ mahābhītērvidrāviṇī bhayāpahā.

By the power of the sun, the goddess, who is the destroyer of the demons and the remover of fear, drives away the enemies and destroys their fear.

स्तुवन्ति तेजसा युक्तां स्त्रियं स्त्रीपुरुषोंऽशतः। स्त्रीभावेन स्थितां देवीं सर्वभूतेषु गोकुले।

stuvanti tejasā yuktāṁ striyaṁ strīpuruṣo'ṁśataḥ. strībhāvēna sthitāṁ dēvīṁ sarvabhūtēṣu gōkule.

With great brilliance, the goddess, who is the essence of the female and male principles, is established in all beings and is to be praised.

दुर्गे स्मृते हरसि भीतिमशेषजंतोः स्वस्थे स्मृते मातरम्। त्वामहं प्रार्थये नित्यं विपत्तेर्निस्स्मरामि।
Transliteration
durgē smṛtē harasi bhītimaśēṣajantoḥ svasthē smṛtē mātaram. tvāmahaṁ prārthayē nityaṁ vipattērnisssmarāmi.
Meaning / Translation
When you, O Durga, are remembered, fear is destroyed, and when the mother is remembered, all beings are free from fear, and I always pray to you to save me from calamity.
