Sutra 4

आत्मानं सर्वभूतेषु विश्वं च सर्वभूतानि । आत्मा वा इदमपि सर्वं यस्य सर्वं भवति न प्रियाप्रिये ।
Transliteration
Ātmānaṁ sarvabhūteṣu viśvaṁ ca sarvabhūtāni | Ātmā vā idam api sarvaṁ yasya sarvaṁ bhavati na priyāpriye |
Meaning / Translation
He who sees himself in all beings and all beings in himself, to him belongs all that he sees, and he becomes one with all; but to him who sees distinction between himself and others, his own self becomes his greatest enemy.

यस्य सर्वे समारम्भाः कामसङ्कल्पवर्जिताः । ज्ञानपूर्वेण कर्मणा यस्य सर्वं कर्म खिलीकृतम् ।
Transliteration
Yasya sarve samārambhāḥ kāmasaṅkalpavarjitāḥ | Jñānapūrveṇa karmaṇā yasya sarvaṁ karma khilīkṛtam |
Meaning / Translation
For him whose all undertakings are free from the desire of selfish ends, and whose every act is motivated by wisdom, all his works become a mere play, and he is freed from all karma.

यस्य निन्दा प्रशंसा तुल्या सर्वभूतेषु चेश्टिता । यस्य द्वन्द्वैर्विमुक्तास्तादात्म्यं याति निराशrayaः ।
Transliteration
Yasya nindā praśaṁsā tulyā sarvabhūteṣu cesthitā | Yasya dvandvairvimuktāstādātmyaṁ yāti nirāśrayaḥ |
Meaning / Translation
He who is equally unaffected by censure or praise, and whose heart is free from the pairs of opposites like pleasure and pain, gains the state of identity with the Self and attains the state of being without any support.
