हे गंगे! शिव की जटाओं से निकली पावन धारा। स्वर्ग से धरती पर आई, जग का उद्धार करने सारा।
Transliteration
He Gange! Shiv ki jataon se nikli paavan dhaara. Swarg se dharti par aayi, jag ka uddhaar karne saara.
Meaning / Translation
O Ganga! The holy stream that emerged from the matted hair of Lord Shiva. You descended from the heavens to the earth to uplift and redeem the entire world.

पापों को हरने वाली, मुक्ति की तुम हो दाता। श्रद्धा से जो शीश झुकाए, पाते सुख की विधाता।
Transliteration
Paapon ko harne waali, mukti ki tum ho daata. Shraddha se jo sheesh jhukaye, paate sukh ki vidhaata.
