अष्टादश (18) महाशक्तिपीठ देवी माँ के सर्वोच्च धाम हैं, जिन्हें आदि शंकराचार्य ने अपने प्रसिद्ध स्तोत्र 'लंकायां शंकरी देवी…' में गिनाया है। लंका की शंकरी से लेकर कश्मीर की सरस्वती तक, ये अठारह पीठ वहाँ स्थित हैं जहाँ देवी सती के अंग गिरे और इन्हें समस्त शक्तिपीठों में सर्वाधिक पवित्र माना जाता है।

📍 Sharda (Neelam Valley), Jammu & Kashmir
The eighteenth of the 18 Maha Shakti Peethas, the ancient Sharada Peeth on the Kishanganga (Neelam) river, where the right hand of Sati is said to have fallen. It was once among the greatest centres of learning in the subcontinent.
🗓️ Access is highly restricted; the site lies in the Neelam Valley of Pakistan-administered Kashmir. Navratri is the traditional festival of the goddess.
