Maharshi bhṛgu ke shāp se Bhīṣma hue, Pitāmah ke nām se vikhyāt hue

Bhishma was born due to the curse of Maharishi Bhrgu and became famous by the name of Pitamah

गंगा पुत्र भीष्म का जीवन संघर्षमय, सत्य और धर्म की रक्षा के लिए

Gangā putra Bhīṣma kā jīvan sangharṣmay, satya aur dharma kī rakṣā ke lie

The life of Bhishma, the son of Ganga, was full of struggle, for the protection of truth and dharma

भीष्म ने कुरुक्षेत्र के युद्ध में अर्जुन का सामना किया, पर श्रीकृष्ण की मदद से हार गए
Transliteration
Bhīṣma ne Kurukṣetra ke yuddha meṁ Arjuna kā sāmanā kiyā, par Śrīkṛṣṇa kī madad se hār gaye
Meaning / Translation
Bhishma faced Arjuna in the war of Kurukshetra, but lost with the help of Shri Krishna

भीष्म की मृत्यु के बाद उनकी आत्मा ने शरशय्या पर लेटकर, अपने प्राण त्याग दिए

Bhīṣma kī mr̥tyu ke bād unakī ātmā ne śaraśayyā par leṭkar, apne prāṇ tyāg die
