Sanatan Hindu (“we”, “our”, or “us”) operates the website at sanatanhindu.co.in. This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, and your rights regarding that information.

a) Search Queries & Usage Data
When you use the search feature on our site, we log the following data to improve search quality and understand content demand:
- The search query you entered
- Your IP address (used only for abuse prevention and aggregate analytics)
- Your browser's User-Agent string
- Timestamp of the search
- Number of results returned
We do not link search logs to any personal identity. We do not sell or share this data with third parties for advertising purposes.
b) Analytics Cookies (Google Analytics 4)
We use Google Analytics 4 (GA4) to understand how visitors use this site, for example, which articles are most read, how visitors navigate between pages, and which search terms are used. This helps us improve our content and user experience.
GA4 is only activated after you explicitly accept cookies via the consent banner shown on your first visit. If you decline, no analytics cookies are set and GA4 is never loaded.
When GA4 is active, Google may set the following cookies on your browser:

To opt out or change your consent: You can withdraw consent at any time by clearing your browser cookies (this resets the consent banner) or by installing the Google Analytics opt-out browser add-on.
c) Session Cookie (Admin Only)
The only other cookie set by this website is an httpOnly, Secure session cookie used exclusively for the administrator dashboard login. This cookie:
- Is never accessible via JavaScript
- Is only sent over HTTPS
- Is only set when an administrator logs in to the admin area
- Is not set for regular visitors under any circumstances
We do not use advertising cookies, retargeting pixels, or any third-party tracking beyond GA4 as described above.
d) Information You Voluntarily Provide
If you contact us by email, we receive the information you choose to include in that message (your email address, name, and message content). We use this only to respond to your inquiry and do not add you to any mailing list without your explicit consent.
2. Third-Party Services We Use
To generate content, serve analytics, and operate the site, we use the following third-party services. Each service processes data according to its own privacy policy:
Google Analytics 4
Used to understand visitor behaviour and improve our content. Only activated after cookie consent. IP anonymisation is enabled. Governed by Google's Privacy Policy.
Google Gemini API
Used to generate article content and search summaries. Content generation requests do not include any visitor personal data. Governed by Google's Privacy Policy.
Groq API
Used as an AI language model provider for content generation. No visitor personal data is included in requests. Governed by Groq's Privacy Policy.
AI Horde / Stable Horde
Used to generate featured images for articles via Stable Diffusion. Requests contain only content prompts, not visitor data. Governed by the Stable Horde terms.
MongoDB Atlas
Our database provider, used to store articles, search logs, and site configuration. Data is stored in a secured, access-controlled cluster. Governed by MongoDB's Privacy Policy.
3. How We Use Collected Information
- Search logs, to understand which topics users are searching for, to improve our content coverage, and to detect and prevent abuse of the search API.
- IP addresses, for rate limiting and abuse prevention only. We do not use IP addresses to track individual users across sessions.
- Contact emails, solely to respond to your message.
We do not sell, rent, or trade any personal data to third parties. We do not use any collected data for behavioural advertising.
4. Data Retention
- Search logs are retained for up to 90 days and then deleted automatically. Aggregate, anonymised statistics may be retained indefinitely.
- Contact emails are retained for as long as necessary to resolve your inquiry, and no longer than 12 months.
- Admin session cookies expire at the end of the browser session or after 7 days, whichever comes first.
5. Your Rights
You have the right to:
- Request access to any personal data we hold about you.
- Request deletion of your data from our systems.
- Object to processing of your data (e.g. if you believe your IP was logged incorrectly as abusive).

6. Children's Privacy
This website is not directed at children under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided us with personal data, please contact us and we will delete it promptly.
7. Security
We take reasonable technical measures to protect the information we collect, including HTTPS encryption on all connections, httpOnly and Secure flags on session cookies, rate limiting on API endpoints, and access controls on our database. However, no method of transmission over the internet is 100% secure.

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we do, we will update the “Last updated” date at the top of this page. Continued use of the site after any changes constitutes your acceptance of the updated policy.
