The Legend of Holika Dahan

Holika ka vardaan aur agni ka khel, adharm ka dahan aur dharm ka mel. Agni mein jali Holika ki maaya, par Prahlad ko mili Narayan ki chaya.

Meaning / Translation

Holika's boon and the play of fire, the burning of unrighteousness and the union of righteousness. Holika's illusion was burnt in the fire, but Prahlad received the shadow (protection) of Narayana.

The Triumph of Truth

Original

Transliteration

Burayi ka ant hua, satya ka uday hua.

Meaning / Translation

Evil came to an end, and truth arose. In the flames of unrighteousness, ego turned to ash; through the Lord's grace, the devotee was redeemed.

The Celebration of Holi

Original

Transliteration

Rangon ki Holi, prem ki boli. Khushiyon ka sanchaar, bhaichare ka tyauhaar. Burayi ko jalakar, achhayi ko apnaayein hum.

Meaning / Translation

The Holi of colors, the language of love. The flow of happiness, the festival of brotherhood. Burning the evil, let us embrace the good.
