Meaning / Translation
Having cleansed the mirror of my mind with the dust of my Guru's lotus feet, I narrate the pure glory of Lord Rama, which bestows the four fruits of life (Dharma, Artha, Kama, and Moksha). Knowing myself to be ignorant, I meditate upon Hanuman, the son of the Wind. Grant me strength, wisdom, and knowledge, and remove my suffering and impurities.

Victory to Hanuman, the ocean of wisdom and virtue. Victory to the Lord of Monkeys, who illuminates the three worlds. You are the messenger of Rama, the abode of incomparable strength, known as the son of Anjani and the Wind. You are a great hero, mighty and strong, who removes evil thoughts and brings wisdom. You are golden in complexion and beautifully dressed, with earring and curled hair. In your hands shine the thunderbolt and the flag, and the sacred thread adorns your shoulder. You are the incarnation of Lord Shiva and the son of Kesari, whose glory is worshipped by the whole world. You are wise, virtuous, and extremely clever, always eager to do Lord Rama's work. You delight in listening to the stories of the Lord; Rama, Lakshmana, and Sita reside in your heart.

You appeared in a tiny form to show Sita, and in a terrifying form to burn Lanka. Taking a gigantic form, you destroyed the demons and completed Lord Rama's tasks. You brought the Sanjivani herb and revived Lakshmana, causing Lord Rama to embrace you with joy. Lord Rama praised you greatly, saying, 'You are as dear to me as my brother Bharata.' The thousand-headed serpent sings your glory, as Lord Rama says while embracing you.

Sanaka, Brahma, and other sages, Narada, Saraswati, and the King of Serpents, as well as Yama, Kubera, and the guardians of directions, and even poets and scholars, cannot fully describe your glory. You helped Sugriva by introducing him to Rama, which helped him regain his kingdom. Vibhishana followed your advice and became the King of Lanka, as the whole world knows. You swallowed the sun, which is millions of miles away, thinking it was a sweet fruit. You carried Lord Rama's ring in your mouth and leaped across the ocean effortlessly.
