कर्मण्येवाधिकारस्ते मा फलेषु कदाचन। मा कर्मफलहेतुर्भूर्मा ते सङ्गोऽस्त्वकर्मणि॥
Transliteration
karmaṇy-evādhikāras te mā phaleṣu kadācana | mā karma-phala-hetur bhūr mā te saṅgo ’stv akarmaṇi ||
Meaning / Translation
You have a right to perform your prescribed duties, but you are not entitled to the fruits of your actions. Never consider yourself to be the cause of the results of your activities, nor be attached to inaction.

वासांसि जीर्णानि यथा विहाय नवानि गृह्णाति नरोऽपराणि। तथा शरीराणि विहाय जीर्णान्यन्यानि संयाति नवानि देही॥
Transliteration
vāsāṃsi jīrṇāni yathā vihāya navāni gṛhṇāti naro ’parāṇi | tathā śarīrāṇi vihāya jīrṇāny anyāni saṃyāti navāni dehī ||
Meaning / Translation
As a person puts on new garments, giving up old ones, the soul similarly accepts new material bodies, giving up the old and useless ones.

यदा यदा हि धर्मस्य ग्लानिर्भवति भारत। अभ्युत्थानमधर्मस्य तदात्मानं सृजाम्यहम्॥ परित्राणाय साधूनां विनाशाय च दुष्कृताम्। धर्मसंस्थापनार्थाय सम्भवामि युगे युगे॥
Transliteration
yadā yadā hi dharmasya glānir bhavati bhārata | abhyutthānam adharmasya tadātmānaṃ sṛjāmy aham || paritrāṇāya sādhūnāṃ vināśāya ca duṣkṛtām | dharma-saṃsthāpanārthāya sambhavāmi yuge yuge ||
Meaning / Translation
Whenever and wherever there is a decline in religious practice, O descendant of Bharata, and a predominant rise of irreligion—at that time I descend Myself. To protect the righteous, to annihilate the miscreants, and to re-establish the principles of righteousness, I appear millennium after millennium.

अनन्याश्चिन्तयन्तो मां ये बुज्झन्ति मनोरथAch। तेषां नित्याभियुक्तानां योगक्षेमं वहाम्यहम्॥
Transliteration
ananyāś cintayanto māṃ ye bujjhanti manorathaḥ | teṣāṃ nityābhiyuktānāṃ yoga-kṣemaṃ vahāmy aham ||
Meaning / Translation
For those who are always engaged in pure devotional service, meditating on Me without deviation, I personally provide what they lack, and I preserve what they have.

सर्वधर्मान्परित्यज्य मामेकं शरणं व्रज। अहं त्वा सर्वपापेभ्यो मोक्षयिष्यामि मा शुचः॥
Transliteration
sarva-dharmān parityajya mām ekaṃ śaraṇaṃ vraja | ahaṃ tvā sarva-pāpebhyo mokṣayiṣyāmi mā śucaḥ ||
Meaning / Translation
Abandon all varieties of religion and just surrender unto Me. I shall deliver you from all sinful reactions. Do not fear.
