नैनं छिन्दन्ति शस्त्राणि नैनं दहति पावकः। न चैनं क्लेदयन्त्यापो न शोषयति मारुतः॥
Transliteration
Nainam chindanti shastrani nainam dahati pavakah | Na chainam kledayantyapo na shoshayati marutah ||
Meaning / Translation
Weapons cannot cut the soul, nor can fire burn it. Water cannot wet it, nor can the wind dry it. The soul is eternal and indestructible.

कर्मण्येवाधिकारस्ते मा फलेषु कदाचन। मा कर्मफलहेतुर्भूर्मा ते सङ्गोऽस्त्वकर्मणि॥
Transliteration
Karmany-evadhikaraste ma phaleshu kadachana | Ma karma-phala-hetur-bhur ma te sango'stvakarmani ||
Meaning / Translation
You have a right to perform your prescribed duties, but you are not entitled to the fruits of your actions. Never consider yourself the cause of the results of your activities, and never be attached to inaction.

योगस्थः कुरु कर्माणि सङ्गं त्यक्त्वा धनञ्जय। सिद्धयसिद्धयोः समो भूत्वा समत्वं योग उच्यते॥
Transliteration
Yogasthah kuru karmani sangam tyaktva dhananjaya | Siddhy-asiddhyoh samo bhutva samatvam yoga uchyate ||
Meaning / Translation
Perform your duty equipoised, O Arjuna, abandoning attachment. Such equanimity in both success and failure is called Yoga.

सर्वधर्मान्परित्यज्य मामेकं शरणं व्रज। अहं त्वा सर्वपापेभ्यो मोक्षयिष्यामि मा शुचः॥
Transliteration
Sarva-dharman parityajya mam ekam sharanam vraja | Aham tva sarva-papebhyo mokshayishyami ma shuchah ||
Meaning / Translation
Abandon all varieties of religion and just surrender unto Me alone. I shall deliver you from all sinful reactions. Do not fear.

Yada yada hi dharmasya glanir-bhavati bharata | Abhyutthanam adharmasya tadatmanam srijamyaham ||
Meaning / Translation
Whenever there is a decline in righteousness and a rise in unrighteousness, O descendant of Bharata, at that time I manifest Myself.
