हरिहराभ्यां नमस्तुभ्यं विष्णुशिवस्वरूपिणाम् । भक्तियुक्तं दक्षिणे यत् तत्प्रणमामि सदा शिवम् ॥
Transliteration
Hariharābhyāṁ namastubhyaṁ Viṣṇuśivasvarūpiṇām । Bhaktiyuktaṁ dakṣiṇe yat tatpraṇamāmi sadā śivam ॥
Meaning / Translation
Salutations to Hari (Vishnu) and Hara (Shiva), who embody the forms of Vishnu and Shiva. I always bow down to that auspicious, devotion-filled tradition which flourished in the South.

श्रीवत्सवक्षः शंखचक्रगदाधरो लक्ष्मीकान्तो जगत्पतिः । आल्वार्गळ् पादल् माला यः तं विष्णुं भजे भक्तवत्सलम् ॥
Transliteration
Śrīvatsavakṣaḥ śaṅkhacakragadādharo Lakṣmīkānto jagatpatiḥ । Āḻvārgaḷ pādal mālā yaḥ taṁ Viṣṇuṁ bhaje bhaktavatsalam ॥
Meaning / Translation
He who has the Shrivatsa mark on His chest, holds conch, discus, and mace, is the Lord of Lakshmi and the Universe. He whom the Alvars praised with garlands of hymns — that Vishnu, the lover of devotees, I worship.
Verse 3: Glory of Lord Shiva (Nayanar's Lord)

चन्द्रशेखरो गङ्गाधरो दिगम्बरो भस्मभूषितः । नयनार्गळ् तेवारम् यस्य तं शंकरं शरणं प्रपद्ये ॥
Transliteration
Candraśekharo Gaṅgādharo Digambaro Bhasmabhūṣitaḥ । Nayānārgaḷ Tēvāram yasya taṁ Śaṅkaraṁ śaraṇaṁ prapadye ॥
Meaning / Translation
He who wears the moon, bears the Ganga, is sky-clad, and adorned with ash. He whom the Nayanars sang in the Tevaram — that Shankara, I take as my refuge.
Verse 4: Unity of Hari and Hara (Advaita Bhakti)

विष्णोः शिवो हृदि शिवस्य विष्णुः एकत्र संस्थितौ । अलर् मेल् शिवपेरुमान् एनैव भेदाभावं भजाम्यहम् ॥
Transliteration
Viṣṇoḥ Śivo hṛdi Śivasya Viṣṇuḥ ekatra saṁsthitau । Alār mel Śivaperumān eṉaiva bhedābhāvaṁ bhajāmyaham ॥
Meaning / Translation
Shiva resides in Vishnu's heart, Vishnu in Shiva's heart — they abide as one. 'Hari and Shiva are the same Lord' — thus I worship the absence of difference.

तमिल् वेदम् द्रविड् वेदम् आल्वार् नयनार् वचनम् । हृदि धृत्वा हरिहरं भजे निर्बाधा भक्तिरस्तु मे ॥
Transliteration
Tamil Vedam Draviḍa Vedam Āḻvār Nayānār vacanam । Hṛdi dhṛtvā Hariharaṁ bhaje nirbādhā bhaktirastu me ॥
Meaning / Translation
Holding in my heart the Tamil Veda, the Dravida Veda, the words of Alvars and Nayanars, I worship Harihara. May uninterrupted devotion be mine.
Verse 6: Phalashruti (Benefit of Recitation)

इदं स्तोत्रं पठेद् भक्त्या हरिहरैक्यवर्धनम् । सायुज्यं परमं प्राप्त्वा मोक्षमाप्नोति मानवः ॥
Transliteration
Idaṁ stotraṁ paṭhed bhaktyā Hariharaikyavardhanam । Sāyujyaṁ paramaṁ prāptvā mokṣamāpnoti mānavaḥ ॥
Meaning / Translation
Whoever recites this hymn with devotion, which enhances the unity of Hari and Hara, attains supreme union (Sayujya) and liberation.
