शान्ताकारं भुजगशयनं पद्मनाभं सुरेशं विश्वाधारं गगनसदृशं मेघवर्णं शुभाङ्गम्। लक्ष्मीकान्तं कमलनयनं योगिभिर्ध्यानगम्यं वन्दे विष्णुं भवभयहरं सर्वलोकैकनाथम्॥
Transliteration
Shantakaram Bhujagashayanam Padmanabham Suresham Vishvadharam Gaganasadrisham Meghavarnam Shubhangam। Lakshmikantam Kamalanayanam Yogibhirdhyanagamyam Vande Vishnum Bhavabhayaharam Sarvalokaikanatham॥
Meaning / Translation
I bow to Lord Vishnu, who has a peaceful countenance, who rests on a serpent, who has a lotus emerging from His navel, and who is the Lord of Gods. He is the support of the universe, vast like the sky, dark as the clouds, and possesses beautiful limbs. He is the beloved of Lakshmi, lotus-eyed, and is attained by Yogis through meditation. I salute the Lord of all worlds, who removes the fear of worldly existence.

जय जय जय श्री नारायण, जग के पालनहार। भक्तों के तुम रक्षक स्वामी, कर दो बेड़ा पार॥ माया जाल से हमें बचा लो, शरण तुम्हारी आए। नारायण नाम जपते, मन पावन हो जाए॥
Transliteration
Jai Jai Jai Shri Narayana, Jag Ke Paalanhaar। Bhakton Ke Tum Rakshak Swami, Kar Do Beda Paar॥ Maya Jaal Se Humein Bacha Lo, Sharan Tumhari Aaye। Narayana Naam Japte, Man Paavan Ho Jaaye॥
Meaning / Translation
Victory, victory, victory to Shri Narayana, the sustainer of the universe. O Master, protector of devotees, please help us cross the ocean of existence. Save us from the web of illusion (Maya); we have come to your refuge. By chanting the name of Narayana, the mind becomes purified.
Stanza 2: The Divine Awakening

चार मास की निद्रा त्यागी, अब तुम जागे हैं। देवोत्थनी एकादशी पर, जग में विराजे हैं॥ क्षीर सागर में शयन किया, अब जग का कल्याण हो। हर हृदय में बस जाओ प्रभु, भक्ति का वरदान हो॥
Transliteration
Chaar Maas Ki Nidra Tyaagi, Ab Tum Jaage Hain। Devutthani Ekadashi Par, Jag Mein Viraaje Hain॥ Ksheer Sagar Mein Shayana Kiya, Ab Jag Ka Kalyan Ho। Har Hriday Mein Bas Jao Prabhu, Bhakti Ka Vardaan Ho॥
Meaning / Translation
Having left your four-month slumber, O Lord, you have now awakened. On this Devutthani Ekadashi, you are seated/manifested in the world. You rested in the Ocean of Milk; now may the world prosper. O Lord, please reside in every heart and grant us the boon of devotion.
Stanza 3: Significance of the Vrat (Fast)

देवोत्थनी एकादशी का, पावन व्रत जो धारे। उसके जीवन के संकट, प्रभु स्वयं ही टारे॥ धूप दीप से आरती उतारें, श्रद्धा मन में लाएं। विष्णु चरणों की सेवा कर, परम पद को पाएं॥
Transliteration
Devutthani Ekadashi Ka, Paavan Vrat Jo Dhaare। Uske Jeevan Ke Sankat, Prabhu Swayam Hi Taare॥ Dhoop Deep Se Aarti Utaarein, Shraddha Man Mein Laayein। Vishnu Charno Ki Seva Kar, Param Pad Ko Paayein॥
Meaning / Translation
Whoever observes the sacred fast of Devutthani Ekadashi, the Lord Himself removes the troubles of their life. Let us perform the Aarti with incense and lamps, bringing deep faith into our hearts. By serving the feet of Lord Vishnu, one attains the supreme state (Moksha).
