Pankh fadfadaaye veer Jatayu, Ravana par toot pade. Bhishan yuddh hua aakash mein, praano ki baaji laga di.

Krodhit Ravana ne talwar uthayi, Jatayu ke pankh kaat diye. Ghayal hokar gire bhoomi par, rakt se nabh laal hue.
Meaning / Translation
The enraged Ravana raised his sword and severed Jatayu's wings. Wounded, he fell to the earth, and the sky turned red with his blood.

Rama aur Lakshmana aaye wahan, dekha Jatayu ko lahuluhan. Karuna bhare nayano se bole, 'He veer! Kaise huye praan?'
Meaning / Translation
Rama and Lakshmana arrived there and saw the bloodied Jatayu. With eyes full of compassion, they asked, 'O brave one! How did this happen to you?'
