प्रातः काल उठकर, स्नान कर, स्वच्छ वस्त्र धारण करें। भगवान विष्णु के सम्मुख हाथ में जल लेकर एकादशी व्रत का संकल्प लें।
Transliteration
Praatah kaal uthkar, snaan kar, swachh vastra dhaaran karein. Bhagwan Vishnu ke samaksh haath mein jal lekar Ekadashi vrat ka sankalp lein.
Meaning / Translation
Wake up early in the morning, bathe, and wear clean clothes. Holding water in your hands before Lord Vishnu, take a formal vow to observe the Ekadashi fast.
Puja Vidhi (Worship Ritual)

विष्णु प्रतिमा का पंचामृत से अभिषेक करें। धूप, दीप, पुष्प और विशेष रूप से तुलसी दल अर्पित करें। श्री हरि के नामों का सुमिरन करें।
Transliteration
Vishnu pratima ka panchamrit se abhishek karein. Dhoop, deep, pushpa aur vishesh roop se Tulsi dal arpit karein. Shri Hari ke naamon ka sumiran karein.
Meaning / Translation
Perform the ritual bath (abhisheka) of the Lord Vishnu idol with Panchamrit. Offer incense, lamps, flowers, and especially Tulsi leaves. Chant the holy names of Shri Hari.

इस पावन दिन अन्न, चावल और दाल का त्याग करें। केवल फलाहार, जल और सात्विक भोजन का ही सेवन करें। मन को चंचल न होने दें, भक्ति में लीन रहें।
Transliteration
Is paavan din anna, chawal aur daal ka tyaag karein. Keval phalahar, jal aur saatvik bhojan ka hi sevan karein. Man ko chanchal na hone dein, bhakti mein leen rahein.
Meaning / Translation
On this sacred day, renounce grains, rice, and pulses. Consume only fruits, water, and pure (sattvic) food. Do not let the mind wander; remain immersed in devotion.
Parana (Breaking the Fast)

द्वादशी तिथि के शुभ समय पर, ब्राह्मण को दान-दक्षिणा दें। शुद्ध भोजन ग्रहण कर श्रद्धापूर्वक व्रत का पारण करें।
Transliteration
Dwadashi tithi ke shubh samay par, Brahmin ko daan-dakshina dein. Shuddh bhojan grahan kar shraddhapoorvak vrat ka paaran karein.
Meaning / Translation
At the auspicious time on the Dwadashi (12th day), offer donations and Dakshina to a Brahmin. Break the fast with devotion by consuming pure food.
