यस्मिन् व्रते तपःसर्वमिदं प्रतिष्ठितम्। यस्माद्व्रतानि भूतानि सर्वाणि प्रतिष्ठितानि।।
Transliteration
Yasmin vratae tapaḥsarvamidaṃ pratiṣṭhitam. Yasmādvratāni bhūtāni sarvāṇi pratiṣṭhitāni.
Meaning / Translation
In this vow, all austerities are established, and from this vow, all living beings are established.

अहोरात्रे महादेवस्तपस्तप्त्वा तु भुक्त्वा च। यस्मात् प्रीतोऽभवत्तस्माद्धर्षयति भूतानि।
Transliteration
Ahórātre mahādevastaptastaptvā tu bhuktva ca. Yasmāt prīto 'bhavattasmādharṣayati bhūtāni.
Meaning / Translation
Lord Shiva, having performed austerities day and night and being pleased, delights all living beings.

अन्नदानं महादानं दानेभ्यो हव्यकव्यदानं। गृहाणां मokṣadānaṃ dānaṃ sarvadānaṃ dvijātīnām.
Transliteration
Annadānaṃ mahādānaṃ dānebhyo havayakavyadānaṃ. Gṛhāṇāṃ mokṣadānaṃ dānaṃ sarvadānaṃ dvijātīnām.
Meaning / Translation
The gift of food is a great gift; among gifts, the gift of oblations to the gods and ancestors is superior. For householders, the gift of liberation is the best gift among all gifts for the twice-born.

कामदा नाम या व्रतमाश्लेषा पूर्णिमाFalopa मासि। यस्यां रात्रौ च पौर्णमास्यां यस्मिंश्च दिवसे ग्रहे।
Transliteration
Kāmadā nāma yā vratamāśleṣā pūrṇimā phālgunamāsi. Yasyāṃ rātrau ca paurṇamāsyāṃ yasmiṃśca dive grahe.
Meaning / Translation
The Ekadashi that occurs during the light fortnight of the month of Phalguna is called Kamada Ekadashi. It is the full moon night and the day when it is observed.

त्रयोदश्यां तिथौ प्राप्ते सर्वपापप्रणाशिनी। कामदा एकादश्यां व्रतमिदं पुण्यदं भवेत्।
Transliteration
Trayodaśyāṃ tithau prāpte sarvapāpapraṇāśinī. Kāmadā ekādaśyāṃ vratamidaṃ puṇyadaṃ bhavet.
Meaning / Translation
When the thirteenth lunar day arrives, which destroys all sins, the observance of Kamada Ekadashi becomes a giver of merit.
