Janm Leela (The Divine Birth)

कारागार में जन्मे कृष्ण, देवकी नंदन कहलाए। वसुदेव ने गोकुल छोड़ा, यशोदा मैया ने पाए॥

Transliteration

Karagar mein janme Krishna, Devaki nandan kehlaaye. Vasudev ne Gokul chhoda, Yashoda maiya ne paaye.

Meaning / Translation

Krishna was born in the prison and is called the son of Devaki. Vasudev carried him to Gokul, where Mother Yashoda received him.

Bal Leela (Divine Childhood)

Original

माखन चोरी की लीला न्यारी, मुरली की मधुर तान। नटखट कान्हा गोकुल वासी, सबका बढ़ा रहे मान॥

Transliteration

Makhan chori ki leela nyaari, murli ki madhur taan. Natkhat Kanha Gokul vaasi, sabka badha rahe maan.

Meaning / Translation

His pastime of stealing butter is unique, and the melody of his flute is sweet. The mischievous Kanha of Gokul increases the dignity of all.

Govardhan Leela (The Lifting of Govardhan)

इंद्र का मान मर्दन किया, गोवर्धन को उठाया। भक्तों की रक्षा करने को, अपना स्वरूप दिखाया॥

Transliteration

Indra ka maan mardan kiya, Govardhan ko uthaya. Bhakton ki raksha karne ko, apna swaroop dikhaya.

Meaning / Translation

He humbled the pride of Indra and lifted the Govardhan hill. To protect his devotees, he revealed his divine cosmic form.

Gita Updesh (The Teachings of Gita)

कुरुक्षेत्र के रण में अर्जुन को, ज्ञान का दीप जलाया। कर्म करो फल की इच्छा तज, गीता का सार सुनाया॥

Transliteration

Kurukshetra ke ran mein Arjun ko, gyaan ka deep jalaya. Karma karo phal ki iccha taj, Gita ka saar sunaya.

Meaning / Translation

In the battlefield of Kurukshetra, he lit the lamp of knowledge for Arjuna. He taught the essence of the Gita: 'Perform your duty without attachment to the fruits of action.'

Sharanagati (Surrender to the Divine)

शरण तुम्हारी जो भी आए, जीवन उसका सफल बनाए। हे कृष्ण मुरारी, हे मधुसूदन, चरणों में शीश झुकाए॥

Transliteration

Sharan tumhari jo bhi aaye, jeevan uska safal banaye. He Krishna Murari, he Madhusudan, charnon mein sheesh jhukaye.

Meaning / Translation

Whoever comes to your refuge, you make their life successful. O Krishna Murari, O Madhusudan, we bow our heads at your lotus feet.
