Ganga Snan Mantra (Invocation of Sacred Waters)

ॐ गंगे च यमुने चैव गोदावरी सरस्वती। नर्मदे सिंधु कावेरी जलेऽस्मिन् संनिधिं कुरु॥

Transliteration

Om Gange cha Yamune chaiva Godavari Saraswati | Narmade Sindhu Kaveri jalesmin sannidhim kuru ||

Meaning / Translation

O Holy rivers Ganga, Yamuna, Godavari, Saraswati, Narmada, Sindhu, and Kaveri, please reside in this water for my purification.

ॐ अमृतस्य पुत्राः सर्वदा विजयी भवन्तु। अमृतं वै अमृतम्।

Transliteration

Om Amritasya Putrah Sarvada Vijayi Bhavantu | Amritam Vai Amritam |

Meaning / Translation

May the children of immortality always be victorious. Nectar is indeed immortality.

Om Karpuura Gauram Karunaavataaram Samsaarasaram Bhujagendra Haaram | Sadaa Vasantam Hrdayaaravinde Bhavam Bhavaani Sahitam Namaami ||

Meaning / Translation

I bow to Lord Shiva, who is as white as camphor, the incarnation of compassion, the essence of worldly existence, who wears the king of serpents as a garland, and who eternally resides in the lotus of the heart along with Goddess Bhavani.
