Meaning / Translation
I bow to the illustrious Goddess Kushmanda to attain all cherished desires, who bears the crescent moon on Her crest, rides a lion, and possesses eight hands. Radiating with the brilliance of the blazing sun, seated in the Anahata chakra, She is the three-eyed fourth form of Durga. She holds a water-pot (kamandalu), bow, arrow, lotus, jar filled with nectar, discus, mace, and a rosary of beads. She wears auspicious yellow garments, has a gentle smile, and is adorned with various ornaments—anklets, necklaces, armlets, small tinkling bells, and gem-studded earrings. With a blooming face, glowing cheeks, tender limbs, a smiling countenance, slender waist, and divine beauty, I adore Her.

May Kaumari protect my entire body, Varahi protect the northern direction, Vaishnavi protect the east, and Indrani protect the south. May Goddess Chandika protect all cardinal and intercardinal directions and watch over me completely. This sacred armor (Kavacha) is celebrated as exceedingly rare across the three worlds.
