श्रीविष्णोर्नामसहस्रं मे श्रीव्यासो भगवान्बृहद्भिरात्मानं यथोपदेशम् । श्रुत्वा देवस्य मुनिभिर्नामसहस्रं व्यासेन ह्युपदिष्टं महाबुद्धेः ।
Transliteration
Shri Vishnor namasahasram me Shri Vyasoh Bhagavan Bhriddhabhiratmaanam yathopadeshham. Shruthvaa devasya munibhir namasahasram Vyasena hyupadishtam mahaabuddheh
Meaning / Translation
The revered sage Vyasa, with great intellect, instructed me in the thousand names of Lord Vishnu, just as they were conveyed by the lord to the sages.

यत्र कृत्स्नं यत्रकृतमिदं येनेदं यद्यद्यद्दधाति-padत्र यच्च । याच्च भूतानि जागति येन सर्वमिदं तत्पदनामसहस्रं ब्रूहि ।
Transliteration
Yatra krtsnam yatrakrthamidam yenedam yadyadyad dadhati-padan yachcha. Yaachcha bhootaani jaagati yena sarvamidam tat padanamahsasram broohi
Meaning / Translation
Tell me the thousand names of that being who is the all, who is the creator of all, who is the sustainer of all, who is the destroyer of all, and by whom all this is born and destroyed.

श्रुत्वा गृहीथ्वा शशिनः प्रभावाद्व्यासप्रसादाच्छ्रुतममृतं पुनः । पुनर्नवं पुण्यं येन च येन श्रोत्रियः स्यात्तद् ब्रूहि भूयोऽपि महाप्राज्ञ ।
Transliteration
Shruthvaa ghrheethvaa shashinah prabhaavaad Vyasaprasaadachchrutam amrtham punah. Punar navam punyam yena cha yena shrotriyah syaattad broohi bhuuyoapi mahaapraajna
