अवन्तिकायां विहितावतारं मुक्तिप्रदानाय च सज्जनानाम् । अकालमृत्योः परिरक्षणार्थं वन्दे महाकालमहासुरेशम् ॥
Transliteration
avantikāyāṃ vihitāvatāraṃ muktipradānāya ca sajjanānām | akālamṛtyoḥ parirakṣaṇārthaṃ vande mahākālamahāsureśam ||
Meaning / Translation
I bow to Lord Mahakala, the supreme lord of divine beings, who incarnated in the holy city of Avantika (Ujjain) to bestow liberation upon virtuous devotees and to protect them from untimely death.

Salutations to You, O Mahakala, who dispels untimely demise, destroys all forms of diseases, and annihilates the deep-seated fears of worldly existence.

He who resides in the sacred cremation ground, the master of all beings, adorned with the crescent moon on His brow, the three-eyed Lord wielding the Pinaka bow, the all-knowing Mahakala—may He be pleased with us.

Transliteration
puṇyakṣiprātaṭe ramye mahākāleśvaraṃ param | koṭitīrthasamāyuktaṃ namāmi varadaṃ śivam ||
Meaning / Translation
On the holy and scenic banks of the river Kshipra resides the supreme Lord Mahakaleshwar, surrounded by millions of sacred tirthas. I bow to that benevolent Lord Shiva, the bestower of all boons.

bhasmoddhūlitadehāya jaṭājūṭadharāya ca | kapālamāline nityaṃ mahākālāya te namaḥ ||
Meaning / Translation
To the Lord whose entire body is adorned with sacred ashes (bhasma), who bears matted locks crowned with grace, and wears a garland of skulls, to that eternal Mahakala, I offer my humble reverences.

Meaning / Translation
Whoever recites or listens to this sacred darshan hymn in the divine presence of Lord Mahakala attains longevity, joy, and peace in this world, and ultimately attains eternal glory in the realm of Shiva.
