नमामि शमीशान निर्वाणरूपं विभुं व्यापकं ब्रह्मवेदस्वरूपम्। निःस्पृहं निर्गुणं निर्विकल्पं निरीहं चिदाकाशमाकाशवासं भजेऽहम्॥
Transliteration
Namami Shamishan Nirvanarupam Vibhum Vyapakam Brahmavedasvarupam Nihspriham Nirgunam Nirvikalpam Niriham Cidakasamakasavasam Bhajeham
Meaning / Translation
I bow to Lord Shiva, the auspicious one, whose form is liberation (nirvana), all-pervading, the very essence of Brahman and the Vedas. He is desireless, attributeless, unchanging, detached, the consciousness that is the sky of skies — I worship Him.

निराकारं ओंकारमूलं तुरीयं गिरा ज्ञानगोतीतमीशं गिरिशं करालम्। महाकालं कालं कृपालुं गुणागारं संसारपारं नतोऽहं सदा शिवम्॥
Transliteration
Nirakaram Omkaramulam Turiyam Gira Jnanagotitamisham Girisham Karalam Mahakalam Kalam Kripalum Gunagaram Samsaraparam Natoham Sada Shivam
Meaning / Translation
He is formless, the root of Omkara, the fourth state (Turiya), beyond speech and knowledge, the Lord of the mountain (Girish), terrible (to the wicked). He is Mahakala (great time/death), time itself, compassionate, the storehouse of virtues, the one who crosses the ocean of samsara — I always bow to that eternal Shiva.

तुषाराद्रि संकाश गौरं गभीरं मनोभूत कोटिप्रभा श्री शरीरम्। स्फुरन्मौलि कल्लोलिनी चारु गङ्गा लसद्भाल बालेन्दु कण्ठे भुजङ्गा॥
Transliteration
Tusharadri Samkasha Gauram Gabhiram Manobhuta Kotiprabha Shri Shariram Sphuranmauli Kallolini Charu Ganga Lasadbhala Balendu Kauthe Bhujanga
Meaning / Translation
His body is white like the snow-clad mountain, profound, radiant with the brilliance of a million minds. On His matted locks, the charming Ganga flows in waves; on His forehead shines the crescent moon, and on His neck, the serpent coils.

चलत्कुण्डलं भ्रू सुनेत्रं विशालं प्रसन्नाननं नीलकण्ठं दयालम्। mृगाधीश चर्माम्बरं मुण्डमालं प्रियं शंकरं सर्वनाथं भजामि॥
Transliteration
Chalatkundalam Bhru Sunetram Vishalam Prasannanana Nilakantam Dayalam Mrigadhisha Charmambaram Mundamalam Priyam Shankaram Sarvanatham Bhajami
Meaning / Translation
His earrings swing, His eyebrows are beautiful, eyes wide and gracious, face serene, throat blue (from poison), compassionate. He wears the skin of the lord of deer (tiger), a garland of skulls — I worship that beloved Shankara, the Lord of all.

Transliteration
Prachandam Prakrishtam Pralabham Paresham Akhandam Ajam Bhanukotiprakasham Trayah Shulam Nasham Purusham Girisham Kalatitam Bhajeham Bhavanipatim
Meaning / Translation
He is fierce, supreme, bold, the Lord of lords, indivisible, unborn, shining with the light of a million suns. He destroys the threefold suffering (adhyatmika, adhibhautika, adhidaivika), the Purusha, the Lord of the mountain, beyond time — I worship the husband of Bhavani.

न यावद् उमानाथ पादारविन्दं भजन्तीह लोके परे वा नराणाम्। न तावत् सुखं शान्ति सन्तापनाशं प्रसीद प्रभो सर्वभूताधिवास॥
Transliteration
Na Yavad Umanatha Padaravindam Bhajantiha Loke Pare Va Naranaam Na Tavat Sukham Shanti Santapanasham Prasida Prabho Sarvabhutadhibasa
Meaning / Translation
Until people in this world or the next worship the lotus feet of Umanatha (Lord of Uma), they will not attain happiness, peace, or destruction of suffering. Be pleased, O Lord, the indweller of all beings.

न जानामि योगं जपं नैव पूजां नतोऽहं सदा शिवम् करुणाकरम्। यत्कृतं यद्भोगं यत्कर्म चित्तं तत्सर्वं समर्पयामि तव पादयोः॥
Transliteration
Na Janami Yogam Japam Naiva Pujam Natoham Sada Shivam Karunakaram Yatkritam Yadbhogam Yatkarma Chittam Tatsarvam Samarpayami Tava Padayoh
Meaning / Translation
I know neither yoga, nor japa, nor puja — I always bow to Shiva, the ocean of compassion. Whatever actions I have done, whatever I have enjoyed, whatever karma resides in my mind — I offer all at Your feet.

Transliteration
Shri Rudrashtakam Idam Proktam Vipraena Haratoshaye Ye Pathanti Nityam Bhaktya Tesham Bhavati Shivasayujyam Nanyatha Gatir Vidyate Guroruktam
Meaning / Translation
This Rudrashtakam was spoken by a Brahmin (Tulsidas) to please Lord Shiva. Those who recite it daily with devotion attain union with Shiva (Sayujya); there is no other path — this is the Guru's declaration.
