Brahman (The Absolute)

ब्रह्म सत्यं जगन्मिथ्या, निर्गुणोऽपरोक्ष बोधव्यः। वह परम तत्व जो सर्वव्यापी और अविनाशी है।
Transliteration
Brahma satyam jagan mithya, nirguno'paroksha bodhavyah. Vah param tattva jo sarvavyapi aur avinashi hai.
Meaning / Translation
Brahman is the Truth, the world is an illusion; He is without attributes and is to be known through direct perception. He is the supreme element that is all-pervading and indestructible.
Atman (The Self)

आत्मा नित्यं शुद्धं च, सर्वव्यापी सर्वगतम्। शरीर से भिन्न, चैतन्य स्वरूप आत्मा।
Transliteration
Atman nityam shuddham cha, sarvavyapi sarvagatam. Sharir se bhinn, chaitanya swarup Atman.
Meaning / Translation
The Self is eternal, pure, all-pervading, and omnipresent. The Atman is distinct from the body and is the embodiment of pure consciousness.
Maya (Illusion)

माया शक्तिः प्रपंचिनी, जगत् भ्रमयात्नी। जो सत्य को ढक ले और असत्य को सत्य दिखाए।
Transliteration
Maya shaktih prapanchini, jagat bhramayatri. Jo satya ko dhak le aur asatya ko satya dikhaye.
Meaning / Translation
Maya is the creative power that projects the phenomenal world; it is that which veils the Truth and presents the unreal as real.
Avidya (Ignorance)

अविद्या मूढकारिणी, जीवं मोहयति। अज्ञान के कारण ही जीव स्वयं को कर्ता मानता है।
Transliteration
Avidya mudhakariini, jeevam mohayati. Agyan ke karan hi jeev swayam ko karta maanta hai.
Meaning / Translation
Avidya is the cause of delusion that deludes the individual soul. Due to this ignorance, the living being falsely identifies as the 'doer'.
Moksha (Liberation)

मोक्षः स्वरूप साक्षात्कारः, जीवन्मुक्तिः परमपदम्। जन्म-मृत्यु के बंधन से पूर्ण स्वतंत्रता।
Transliteration
Mokshah swarup sakshatkarah, jeevanmuktihi paramapadam. Janma-mrityu ke bandhan se purna swatantrata.
Meaning / Translation
Liberation is the direct realization of one's true nature; Jeevanmukti is the supreme state of being liberated while alive. It is complete freedom from the cycle of birth and death.
