Hanuman Chalisa is a 40-verse devotional hymn composed by Goswami Tulsidas in the 16th century, dedicated to Lord Hanuman. It is one of the most recited prayers in Hinduism and is believed to bring courage, protection, and divine blessings.
The word 'Chalisa' means forty (chalis) in Hindi, referring to its 40 chaupais (verses), preceded by two dohas (couplets) and followed by one doha.
