Introduction (Context)

ततो युद्धपरिश्रान्तं समरे चिन्तया स्थितम् । रावणं च समास्थाय युद्धाय चकृत मुनिवरः ॥
Transliteration
Tato yuddha-parishrāntam samare chintayā sthitam | Rāvaṇam cha samāsthāya yuddhāya cha kratam munivaraḥ ||
Meaning / Translation
Seeing Rama exhausted by the battle and lost in thought in the midst of the war, the great sage Agastya approached him.

रामा राम महातेज नमस्ते गरुडध्वज । अत्र सर्वमेनार्हस्य आदित्यं प्रत्यक्षमेव हि ॥
Transliteration
Rāmā rāma mahā-teja namaste garuḍa-dhvaja | Atra sarvamena-rhasya ādityaṃ pratyakṣa-meva hi ||
Meaning / Translation
O Rama, O mighty one, salutations to you, the one with the Garuda flag. Here, the Sun is visible before you; worship him to gain all you desire.

Transliteration
Jaya jaya ādityo'yamēkaḥ sarvabhūtātmanātparaḥ | Sarvadvandva-vinirmuktaḥ sarvatīraḥ sakalēśvaraḥ ||
Meaning / Translation
Victory, victory to the one and only Aditya, who is the soul of all beings. He is free from all dualities, is the ultimate refuge, and the Lord of everything.

ततस्त्ववृत्तं गङ्गाप्रभा तपति भास्करोऽपि च । जगतः प्राणदः सर्वः सर्वशक्तिमयं जगत् ॥
Transliteration
Tatas-tvavṛttaṃ gaṅgā-prabhā tapati bhāskarō'pi cha | Jagataḥ prāṇadaḥ sarvaḥ sarva-śaktimayaṃ jagat ||
Meaning / Translation
Then the radiance like the Ganges appeared, and the Sun shone brightly. He is the giver of life to the world and the source of all power in the universe.

एतन्मयं महातेज सूर्यं प्राप्य विजयिष्यसि । यतः सर्वत्र लोकेऽस्मिन् जयोऽस्ति स्थिरा सदा ॥
Transliteration
Etanmayaṃ mahā-tēja sūryaṃ prāpya vijayiṣyasi | Yataḥ sarvatra lōkē'smin jayo'sti sthirā sadā ||
Meaning / Translation
By worshipping this great, radiant Sun, you shall achieve victory. From him, true and eternal victory flows throughout the entire world.

य इदं पठेत् प्रयत्नेन सर्वशत्रुविनाशनम् । जयेत् स सर्वलोकेषु सर्वकामफलप्रदम् ॥
Transliteration
Ya idaṃ paṭhet prayatnena sarva-śatru-vināśanam | Jayet sa sarva-lōkeṣu sarva-kāma-phala-pradam ||
Meaning / Translation
Whoever recites this with devotion will be destroyed of all enemies. They shall attain victory in all worlds and receive the fruits of all their desires.
