वन्दे वाञ्छितलाभाय चन्द्रार्धकृतशेखराम्। वृषारूढां शूलधरां शैलपुत्रीं यशस्विनीम्॥
Transliteration
Vande Vāñchitalābhāya Candrārdhakṛtaśekharām | Vṛṣārūḍhāṁ Śūladharāṁ Śailaputrīṁ Yaśasvinīm ||
Meaning / Translation
I bow to the illustrious Goddess Shailaputri, adorned with the crescent moon on Her forehead, who rides a bull, holds a trident, and fulfills all virtuous desires.

प्रथमं शैलपुत्री च द्वितीयं ब्रह्मचारिणी। तृतीयं चन्द्रघण्टेति कूष्माण्डेति चतुर्थकम्॥
Transliteration
Prathamaṁ Śailaputrī Ca Dvitīyaṁ Brahmacāriṇī | Tṛtīyaṁ Candraghaṇṭeti Kūṣmāṇḍeti Caturthakam ||
Meaning / Translation
First is Shailaputri (Daughter of the Mountain), second is Brahmacharini (The Ascetic), third is Chandraghanta (Adorned with a Moon Bell), and fourth is Kushmanda (Creator of the Universe).

पञ्चमं स्कन्दमातेति षष्ठं कात्यायनीति च। सप्तमं कालरात्रीति महागौरीति चाष्टमम्॥
Transliteration
Pañcamaṁ Skandamāteti Ṣaṣṭhaṁ Kātyāyanīti Ca | Saptamaṁ Kālarātrīti Mahāgaurīti Cāṣṭamam ||
Meaning / Translation
Fifth is Skandamata (Mother of Lord Skanda), sixth is Katyayani (Born of Sage Katyayana), seventh is Kalaratri (The Fierce Night of Time), and eighth is Mahagauri (The Pure Radiant One).

Transliteration
Navamaṁ Siddhidātrī Ca Navadurgāḥ Prakīrtitāḥ | Uktānyetāni Nāmāni Brahmaṇaiva Mahātmanā ||

अग्निना दह्यमानस्तु शत्रुमध्ये गतो रणे। विषमे दुर्गमे चैव भयार्ताः शरणं गताः॥ न तेषां जायते किञ्चिदशुभं रणसङ्कटे। नापदं तस्य पश्यामि शोकदुःखभयं न हि॥
Transliteration
Agninā Dahyamānastu Śatrumadhye Gato Raṇe | Viṣame Durgame Caiva Bhayārtāḥ Śaraṇaṁ Gatāḥ || Na Teṣāṁ Jāyate Kiñcidaśubhaṁ Raṇasaṅkaṭe | Nāpadaṁ Tasya Paśyāmi Śokaduḥkhabhayaṁ Na Hi ||
Meaning / Translation
Those who, caught in blazing fire, surrounded by enemies on the battlefield, or trapped in dire straits and terrifying situations, take refuge in Her, suffer no misfortune in times of crisis, nor do they encounter grief, fear, or calamity.

O Devi Narayani, dedicated to the protection of the distressed and helpless who take refuge in You, remover of all suffering, salutations unto You. O You who are the auspiciousness of all auspicious things, the benefactor, accomplisher of all righteous desires, the refuge, the three-eyed Gauri, salutations unto You.
