गङ्गे च यमुने चैव गोदावरी सरस्वती । नर्मदे सिन्धु कावेरि जलेऽस्मिन् सन्निधिं कुरु ॥

Transliteration

Gange ca Yamune caiva Godavari Sarasvati | Narmade Sindhu Kaveri jalesmin sannidhim kuru ||

Meaning / Translation

O Goddess Ganga, Yamuna, Godavari, Saraswati, Narmada, Sindhu, and Kaveri, please manifest your presence in this water.

जटाधरात्प्रवाहिती गङ्गा शिवशिरोऽधिरूढा । पावनोदयेन सा विश्वं पातु सर्वदा नः ॥

Transliteration

Jatā-dharāt-pravāhitī Gangā Shiva-shiro-'dhirūḍhā | Pāvana-odayena sā viśvam pātu sarvadā naḥ ||

Meaning / Translation

The Ganga, who flows from the matted locks of Lord Shiva and resides upon His head, may She, with her purifying flow, protect the entire universe forever.

पापप्रणाशिनी गङ्गा पावनं सर्वसत्त्विनि । नमामि गङ्गे परम पावनं सर्वपापहारिणीम् ॥

Transliteration

Pāpa-praṇāśinī Gangā pāvanaṃ sarva-sattvini | Namāmi Gange parama pāvanaṃ sarva-pāpa-hāriṇīm ||

Meaning / Translation

O Ganga, the destroyer of sins, the purifier of all beings, I bow to You, the most sacred one, who removes all sins.

जगन्माता गङ्गे नमामि सर्वपापप्रणाशिनीम् । कल्याणकारिणी देवि सर्वलोकहितप्रदा ॥

Transliteration

Jaganmātā Gange namāmi sarva-pāpa-praṇāśinīm | Kalyāṇakāriṇī Devi sarva-loka-hita-pradā ||

Meaning / Translation

I bow to Mother Ganga, the destroyer of all sins. O Goddess, You are the bringer of auspiciousness and the provider of welfare to all the worlds.
