गंगे च यमुने चैव गोदावरी सरस्वति | नर्मदे सिन्धु कावेरी जलेऽस्मिन् सन्निधिं कुरु ||
Transliteration
Gange cha Yamune chaiva Godavari Saraswati | Narmade Sindhu Kaveri Jalesmin Sannidhim Kuru ||
Meaning / Translation
O Holy rivers Ganga, Yamuna, Godavari, Saraswati, Narmada, Sindhu, and Kaveri, please reside in this water (within the Kalash).

कलशस्य मुखे विष्णुः कण्ठे रुद्रः समाश्रितः | मूलयोस्तदनां शक्तिः मध्ये मातृगणाः स्मृताः ||
Transliteration
Kalashasya mukhe Vishnuh kanthe Rudrah samashritah | Moolayostadanam Shaktih madhye matruganah smritah ||
Meaning / Translation
In the mouth of the Kalash resides Lord Vishnu; in the neck resides Lord Rudra (Shiva); in the base resides Shakti (Devi); and in the middle, the Divine Mothers are invoked.

Transliteration
Om apsu tejo'si tejo'si divyamasi divyamasi | divyamasi devon devo yo'si tejo'gnih parikarah ||
Meaning / Translation
Om, you are the light in the water, you are the divine light, you are the divine essence; you are the God of Gods, and the light is your brilliance.
