कर्कः कुलीरः स्निग्धश्च जलचारी समः सितः। बहुपाद् विप्रवर्णश्च रात्रौ बली कफोल्बणः॥ हृदयप्रधानः करुणामयश्च चञ्चलो मातृभक्तकः। चन्द्रगृहे समुत्पन्नो गम्भीरः स्नेहपूरितः॥
Transliteration
karkaḥ kulīraḥ snigdhaśca jalacārī samaḥ sitaḥ | bahupād vipravarṇaśca rātrau balī kapholbaṇaḥ || hṛdayapradhānaḥ karuṇāmayaśca cañcalo mātṛbhaktakaḥ | candragṛhe samutpanno gambhīraḥ snehapūritaḥ ||
Meaning / Translation

dadhiśaṅkhatuṣārābhaṁ kṣīrodārṇavasambhavam | namāmi śaśinaṁ somaṁ śambhormukuṭabhūṣaṇam ||

I bow down to Lord Chandra (Soma), who possesses the serene white radiance of curd, conch, and snow; who emerged from the churning of the milky ocean; and who adorns the sacred crown of Lord Shiva.

O Lord Chandrashekhara (Shiva, whose crest holds the crescent moon), please protect me and guide me. Pure and white like camphor, the very embodiment of compassion, the essence of cosmic existence, adorned with the king of serpents—I bow down to Lord Shiva, who dwells eternally in the lotus of my heart together with Goddess Bhavani (Parvati).
