Verse 1: The Princely Birth

कपिलवस्तु के राजदुलारे, सिद्धार्थ नाम तिहारे। माता महामाया ने जनम दिया, सुख के सागर प्यारे।

Transliteration

Kapilvastu ke rajdulare, Siddhartha naam tihare. Mata Mahamaya ne janam diya, sukh ke sagar pyare.

Meaning / Translation

The beloved prince of Kapilvastu, known by the name Siddhartha. Mother Mahamaya gave him birth, O beloved ocean of happiness.

Verse 2: The Awakening of Renunciation

देखा वृद्ध, रोगी और मृत, मन में जागा वैराग्य। सत्य की खोज में त्याग दिया, राज-पाट और वैभव।

Transliteration

Dekha vriddh, rogi aur mrit, mann mein jaga vairagya. Satya ki khoj mein tyag diya, raj-paat aur vaibhav.

Meaning / Translation

Seeing the old, the sick, and the dead, renunciation arose in his heart. In the search for truth, he abandoned his kingdom and all worldly splendor.

Verse 3: Enlightenment at Bodhgaya

बोधगया की पीपल छाया, ध्यान लगाया भारी। बुद्ध बन गए जग के दाता, मिटा जगत के दुख सारे।

Transliteration

Bodhgaya ki peepal chhaya, dhyan lagaya bhaari. Buddha ban gaye jag ke daata, mita jagat ke dukh saare.

Meaning / Translation

Under the shade of the Peepal tree in Bodhgaya, he meditated with great intensity. He became the Buddha, the giver to the world, erasing all the sorrows of existence.

Verse 4: The Path of Dharma

अष्टांगिक मार्ग बताया, शांति का पथ दिखाया। करुणा और अहिंसा का, पावन मंत्र सुनाया।

Transliteration

Ashtangik marg bataya, shanti ka path dikhaya. Karuna aur ahimsa ka, paavan mantra sunaya.

Meaning / Translation

He revealed the Eightfold Path and showed the way to peace. He proclaimed the sacred mantra of compassion and non-violence.
