ॐ चन्द्रदेवाय विद्महे, अमृततत्वाय धीमहि। तन्नो चन्द्रः प्रचोदयात्॥
Transliteration
Om Chandradevaya Vidmahe, Amritatattvaya Dheemahi. Tanno Chandrah Prachodayat.
Meaning / Translation
Om, Let us meditate on the Moon God, the essence of nectar. May that Moon illuminate our intellect.

ग्रहण काले छाया प्रपञ्च, चन्द्र कलाओं का संकट। शुभ फलदायक शांति प्रदान, शिव शंभु की कृपा करें॥
Transliteration
Grahan kaale chhaya prapancha, Chandra kalaon ka sankat. Shubha phaldayak shaanti pradaan, Shiva Shambhu ki kripa karein.
Meaning / Translation
In the time of eclipse, amidst the play of shadows and the crisis of the lunar phases, may Lord Shiva's grace grant us auspicious peace.

ज्योतिर्मय चन्द्रदेव, मन के अंधकार को दूर करो। शांति, समृद्धि, सुख प्रदान करो॥
Transliteration
Jyotirmaya Chandradeva, mana ke andhkaar ko door karo. Shaanti, samriddhi, sukh pradaan karo.
Meaning / Translation
O luminous Moon God, remove the darkness from our minds. Grant us peace, prosperity, and happiness.

भाल चन्द्र सोहता शिव शंभू, रक्षा करो हमारी। ग्रहण दोष निवारण हेतु, शरणम् गच्छामि॥
Transliteration
Bhaala chandra sohata Shiva Shambhu, raksha karo hamari. Grahan dosha nivarana hetu, sharanam gachhami.
Meaning / Translation
O Shiva Shambhu, who bears the moon upon His forehead, protect us. To remove the ill effects of the eclipse, I take refuge in You.
