Deepa Prajvalan (Lighting the Lamp)

दीपज्योतिः परब्रह्म दीपज्योतिर्जनार्दनः । दीपो ज्योतिर्नरो भव्वा दीपज्योतिर्नमोऽस्तुते ॥

Transliteration

Deepajyotih Parabrahma Deepajyotir Janardanah | Deepo Jyotir Narobhavva Deepajyotir Namostute ||

Meaning / Translation

The light of the lamp is the Supreme Brahman; the light of the lamp is Janardana (Vishnu). May the light of the lamp become the light within the human soul. I bow to the light of the lamp.

नमस्तेऽस्तु महामाये श्रीपीठे सुरपूजिते । शंखचक्रगदाहस्ते महालक्ष्मि नमोऽस्तु ते ॥

Transliteration

Namastestu Mahamaye Shri Peethe Sura Pujite | Shankha Chakra Gada Haste Mahalakshmi Namostu Te ||

Meaning / Translation

Salutations to the Great Illusion (Mahamaya), who is worshipped by the Gods on the sacred seat (Shri Peetha). O Mahalakshmi, who holds the conch, the discus, and the mace in your hands, I bow to you.

Lakshmi Beej Mantra (Sacred Seed Mantra)

ॐ श्रीं ह्रीं श्रीं कमले कमलालये प्रसीद प्रसीद । ॐ श्रीं ह्रीं श्रीं महालक्ष्म्यै नमः ॥

Transliteration

Om Shreem Hreem Shreem Kamale Kamalalaye Praseeda Praseeda | Om Shreem Hreem Shreem Mahalakshmyai Namah ||

Meaning / Translation

Om, the auspicious vibrations of abundance and power. O Goddess who resides in the lotus, be pleased with me, be pleased. Om, I bow to the great Goddess Lakshmi.

Meaning / Translation

Om, Victory to Mother Lakshmi! O Mother, Victory to Mother Lakshmi! We serve You day and night, along with Lord Vishnu, the sustainer.

ॐ यज्ञेन यज्ञमयजन्त देवास्तानि धर्माणि प्रथमान्यासन् । ते ह नाकं महिमानः सचन्त यत्र पूर्वे साध्याः सन्ति देवाः ॥

Transliteration

Om Yagnena Yagnamayajanta Devastani Dharmani Prathamanyasan | Te Ha Nakam Mahimanah Sachanta Yatra Purve Sadhyaah Santi Devah ||

Meaning / Translation

Through sacrifice, the Gods worshipped the Sacrifice; these were the first laws of Dharma. The powerful ones reach the heavens where the ancient gods reside. (Used to conclude offerings).
