ॐ त्र्यम्बकं यजामहे सुगन्धिं पुष्टिवर्धनम् । उर्वारुकमिव बन्धनान्मृत्योर्मुक्षीय माऽमृतात् ॥

Transliteration

Om Tryambakam Yajamahe Sugandhim Pushti-Vardhanam | Urvarukamiva Bandhanan Mrityor Mukshiya Maamritat ||

Meaning / Translation

We worship the three-eyed one, who is fragrant and nourishes all beings. Just as a ripe cucumber is freed from its stem, may He liberate us from death for the sake of immortality.

Sacred ash adorns His body, He wears a garland of skulls. A trident shines in His hand, and He plays the divine Damru drum.

Meaning / Translation

He resides in the form of the holy Jyotirlinga, dwelling in all eight directions. In the refuge of Mahakal, all hopes and desires are fulfilled.
