ॐ त्र्यम्बकं यजामहे सुगन्धिं पुष्टिवर्धनम् । उर्वारुकमिव बन्धनान्मृत्योर्मुक्षीय मामृतात् ॥
Transliteration
Om Tryambakam Yajamahe Sugandhim Pushti-Vardhanam | Urvarukamiva Bandhanan Mrityor Mukshiya Maamritat ||
Meaning / Translation
We worship the Three-eyed Lord (Shiva) who is fragrant and nourishes all beings. Just as a ripe cucumber is freed from its bondage to the vine, may He liberate us from death for the sake of immortality.

हे चन्द्रशेखर, हे शिव शम्भो! सोमवती अमावस्या के इस पावन दिन पर, हम आपकी शरण में आए हैं। हमारे जीवन के समस्त अंधकार और पापों का नाश करें। चन्द्रमा की शीतलता और आपकी कृपा से हमारे मन को शांति प्रदान करें।
Transliteration
Hey Chandrashekhara, Hey Shiva Shambho! Somvati Amavasya ke is paavan din par, hum aapki sharan mein aaye hain. Hamare jeevan ke samast andhkaar aur paapon ka naash karein. Chandrama ki sheetalta aur aapki kripa se hamare mann ko shaanti pradaan karein.
Meaning / Translation
O Moon-crested Lord, O Shiva Shambhu! On this holy day of Somvati Amavasya, we have come to your refuge. Destroy all the darkness and sins of our lives. Grant peace to our minds through the coolness of the Moon and Your divine grace.

कर्पूरगौरं करुणावतारं संसारसारम् भुजगेन्द्रहारम् । सदावसन्तं हृदयारविन्दे भवं भवानीसहितं नमामि ॥
Transliteration
Karpuura-Gauram Karuna-Avataaram Samsaara-Saaram Bhujagendra-Haaram | Sadaa-Vasantam Hrdaya-Aravinde Bhavam Bhavaanii-Sahitam Namaami ||
Meaning / Translation
I bow to that Lord Shiva who is as pure as camphor, the incarnation of compassion, the essence of the universe, who wears the king of serpents as a garland, and who always resides in the lotus of my heart along with Mother Bhavani.
