Stanza 1: Salutation

Original

बुद्धाय नमः, शांति के दाता। ज्ञान के सागर, जग के विधाता।

Transliteration

Buddhaya Namah, shaanti ke daata. Gyaan ke saagar, jag ke vidhaata.

Meaning / Translation

Salutations to the Buddha, the giver of peace. Ocean of wisdom, guide of the world.

Stanza 2: Enlightenment

Original

बोधि वृक्ष की छाया में, सत्य को प्राप्त किया। मोह और माया को, सदा के लिए त्याग दिया।

Transliteration

Bodhi vriksh ki chhaya mein, satya ko praapt kiya. Moh aur maaya ko, sada ke liye tyaag diya.

Meaning / Translation

Under the shade of the Bodhi tree, truth was attained. Attachment and illusion were abandoned forever.

Stanza 3: Compassion

Original

करुणा की वर्षा हो, प्रेम का हो संचार। बुद्ध के वचनों से, महके यह संसार।

Transliteration

Karuna ki varsha ho, prem ka ho sanchaar. Buddha ke vachnon se, mehkye yeh sansaar.

Meaning / Translation

May compassion rain down, and may love flow. May the world blossom through the teachings of the Buddha.

Stanza 4: Celebration of Vesak

Original

जन्म, बोधि, निर्वाण, सब पावन पर्व हैं। वेसाक की इस बेला में, हम सब नमन करते हैं।

Transliteration

Janm, Bodhi, Nirvaan, sab paavan parv hain. Vesak ki is bela mein, hum sab naman karte hain.

Meaning / Translation

Birth, Enlightenment, and Nirvana—all are sacred celebrations. In this auspicious time of Vesak, we all bow to you.
