The Sri Radha Krishna temple at Rajajinagar, inaugurated in 1997, rises on Hare Krishna Hill as one of ISKCON's largest and most visited centres. Its architecture fuses traditional South Indian shrines crowned with gold-plated gopurams and kalash with a bold modern superstructure of glass and steel. The complex houses shrines to Radha-Krishna, Krishna-Balaram, Nitai-Gauranga and Srinivasa Govinda, along with a Vedic cultural centre, a multimedia theatre and one of the world's largest kitchens serving the Akshaya Patra midday-meal programme for schoolchildren. Daily aartis, kirtan and the annual Janmashtami celebration draw enormous crowds.
