The Mahavir Mandir stands right beside Patna Junction, making it one of the busiest temples in eastern India with millions of visitors each year. The sanctum enshrines two idols of Hanuman side by side, representing his benevolent (Parameshwar) and wish-fulfilling (Sankatmochan) aspects. The temple is run by a trust that channels its large income into major charitable work, including cancer hospitals in Patna. Its celebrated Naivedyam laddu, prepared under strict purity rules, is distributed as prasad. Tuesdays, Saturdays and Ram Navami see especially large crowds.
