यज्ञोपवीतं परमं पवित्रं प्रजापतेर्यत्सहजं पुरस्तात् । आयुष्यमग्र्यं प्रतिमुञ्च शुभ्रं यज्ञोपवीतं बलमस्तु तेजः ॥
Transliteration
Yajñopavītaṃ paramaṃ pavitraṃ prajāpateryat-sahajaṃ purastāt | Āyuṣyamagryaṃ prati-muñca śubhraṃ yajñopavītaṃ balam-astu tejaḥ ||
Meaning / Translation
This sacred thread is most holy, born with Prajapati (the Lord of Creation) in the primordial beginning. May this pure, auspicious, and excellent thread, which grants longevity, bestow upon me strength and spiritual brilliance.
