Ganga Stotram
Verse 1

नमामि गङ्गां सुरश्रेष्ठं पावनं पापननाशिनीम् ।
Transliteration
Namāmi gaṅgāṃ suraśreṣṭhaṃ pāvanaṃ pāpananāśinīm |
Meaning / Translation
I bow to the great Ganga, the best among the gods, the purifier, and the destroyer of sins.

शिवजटाजलरूपिणीं त्रैलोक्यपावनं सदा ।
Transliteration
Śivajaṭājalarūpiṇīṃ trailokyapāvanaṃ sadā |
Meaning / Translation
She who is the form of the water flowing from Lord Shiva's matted hair, who eternally purifies the three worlds.

अमृतमयीं जगद्धितैषिणीं सर्वसौख्यप्रदायिनीम् ।
Transliteration
Amṛtamayīṃ jagaddhitaishiṇīṃ sarvasaukhyapradāyinīm |
Meaning / Translation
Consisting of nectar, desiring the welfare of the universe, and bestowing all kinds of happiness.

भक्तानां दुःखहारिणीं पापनाशकारिणीम् ।
Transliteration
Bhaktānāṃ duḥkhahāriṇīṃ pāpanāśakāriṇīm |
Meaning / Translation
The remover of the sorrows of her devotees and the destroyer of their sins.

Brahmavīṇāpravāhinīṃ divyajyotirmayīm |

The one who flows with the divine celestial vibration and is imbued with divine light.

Meaning / Translation
The vine of purity in this world, marking the path of purification for the three realms.

सर्वपापप्रणाशिनीं सौभाग्यवर्धिनीं सदा ।

Sarvapāpapraṇāśinīṃ saubhāgyavardhinīṃ sadā |

The destroyer of all sins and the one who constantly increases prosperity and good fortune.
