Meaning / Translation
Victory to Hanuman, the ocean of wisdom and virtue. Victory to the Lord of Monkeys who illuminates the three worlds. You are the messenger of Rama, possessing immeasurable strength; known as the son of Anjani and the Wind God. You are the great hero, mighty as a thunderbolt, who removes evil thoughts and brings wisdom. Your golden complexion is adorned with beautiful ear-studs and curly hair. You hold a thunderbolt and a banner, with a sacred thread across your shoulder. You are the incarnation of Shiva and the son of Kesari, whose glory is worshipped by the entire universe. You are wise, virtuous, and extremely clever, always eager to serve Lord Rama. You delight in listening to the glories of the Lord, and Rama, Lakshmana, and Sita dwell in your heart. You appeared in a tiny form before Sita, yet assumed a terrifying form to burn Lanka. You took a gigantic form to destroy the demons and accomplished all of Lord Rama's tasks.

Meaning / Translation
You brought the Sanjivani herb and revived Lakshmana, which gladdened Lord Rama so much that He embraced you. Rama praised you greatly, calling you as dear to Him as His brother Bharata. The thousands of mouths of Shesha Naga sing your glory, as the Lord of Rama embraced you. Sages like Sanaka, gods like Brahma, and even Narada, Saraswati, and the serpent king sing of you. Even Yama, Kubera, and the guardians of the directions cannot fully describe your glory. You helped Sugriva by introducing him to Rama, helping him regain his kingdom. Vibhishana followed your counsel and became the King of Lanka, as known by the whole world. You swallowed the sun, which was millions of miles away, treating it like a sweet fruit. You carried the Lord's ring in your mouth and leapt across the ocean with ease. All the difficult tasks in this world become easy through your grace.

You are the gatekeeper of Rama's court; no one can enter without your permission. Those who take refuge in you find all happiness; with you as the protector, there is no fear. Only you can control your immense energy, which makes the three worlds tremble with a single roar. Ghosts and evil spirits do not approach when the name of Mahabir is chanted. All diseases and pains vanish when one constantly chants the name of the brave Hanuman. Hanuman delivers from all troubles for those who meditate upon Him in thought, word, and deed. You accomplished all the tasks of Lord Rama, the supreme ascetic king. Whoever brings any desire to you attains the immeasurable fruit of life. Your glory spans all four ages, and your fame illuminates the entire universe. You are the protector of saints and sages, the destroyer of demons, and the beloved of Rama.

Mother Janaki has blessed you with the power to grant the eight Siddhis and nine Nidhis. You possess the nectar of Rama's devotion and always remain the servant of Lord Rama. By chanting your name, one finds Rama and is freed from the sufferings of many lifetimes. At the end of life, such a devotee goes to the abode of Rama and is known as a devotee of God in every birth. One need not focus on other deities; serving Hanuman alone brings all happiness. All troubles and pains vanish for those who remember the powerful Hanuman. Victory, victory, victory to Lord Hanuman! Please bless me like a divine Guru. Whoever recites this a hundred times will be freed from bondage and enjoy great bliss. Whoever recites this Hanuman Chalisa will attain success, as Lord Shiva is witness. Tulsidas is forever a servant of the Lord; O Lord, please reside in my heart.
