जय शिव ओंकारा, प्रभु जय शिव ओंकारा। ब्रह्मा विष्णु सदाशिव, अर्द्धांगी धारा॥

Transliteration

Jai Shiv Omkara, Prabhu Jai Shiv Omkara. Brahma Vishnu Sadashiva, Ardhangi Dhara.

Meaning / Translation

Glory to Lord Shiva, the embodiment of Om. Brahma, Vishnu, and Sadashiva are His aspects, and He is the cosmic union of male and female energies.

नीलकंठ महादेवा, विष का प्याला पिया। जग के कल्याण हेतु, नील वर्ण अपनाया॥

Transliteration

Neelkanth Mahadeva, vish ka pyala piya. Jag ke kalyan hetu, neel varn apnaya.

Meaning / Translation

O Great Mahadeva with the blue throat, You drank the cup of poison. For the welfare of the universe, You adopted the blue complexion.

मस्तक पर चन्द्रमा सोहे, जटा में गंगा की धारा। त्रिशूल और डमरू धारी, जग का पालनहारा॥

Transliteration

Mastak par Chandrama sohe, jata mein Ganga ki dhara. Trishul aur damru dhari, jag ka palanhara.

Meaning / Translation

The moon shines upon Your forehead, and the Ganges flows from Your matted hair. Holder of the trident and the drum, You are the sustainer of the world.

भस्म अंग पर रमाए हुए, नंदी की सवारी। ओघड़ दानी, भोले भंडारी, महिमा तेरी न्यारी॥

Transliteration

Bhasm ang par ramae hue, Nandi ki sawari. Oghad dani, Bhole Bhandari, mahima teri nyari.

Meaning / Translation

Covered in sacred ash, riding upon Nandi the bull. The spontaneous giver, the innocent provider, Your glory is incomparable.

जो भी आरती गावे, श्रद्धा से मन ध्यावे। शिव की शरण में आके, परम पद पावे॥

Transliteration

Jo bhi aarti gaave, shraddha se man dhyaave. Shiv ki sharan mein aake, param pad paave.

Meaning / Translation

Whoever sings this aarti and meditates with a heart full of devotion, coming to the refuge of Shiva, shall attain the supreme state of liberation.
