शिव की बारात सजी है भारी, देवताओं की टोली प्यारी। नंदी चले आगे में डमरू बाजे, सारा जग इस उत्सव में साजे।

Transliteration

Shiv ki barat saji hai bhaari, devtaon ki toli pyaari. Nandi chale aage mein damru baaje, saara jag is utsav mein saaje.

Meaning / Translation

Shiva's wedding procession is magnificently decorated, accompanied by a lovely group of deities. Nandi leads the way while the damru plays, and the entire world is adorned for this celebration.

The Appearance of Lord Shiva

भस्म रमाए गले में नाग, नृत्य करें गण संग उमंग। जटा जूट में गंगा विराजे, शिव का रूप मन को साजे।

Transliteration

Bhasm ramaaye gale mein naag, nritya karein gan sang umang. Jata joot mein Ganga viraaje, Shiv ka roop man ko saaje.

Meaning / Translation

Smearing ash on his body with snakes around his neck, the Ganas dance with great excitement. The holy Ganges resides in his matted hair, and Shiva's form delights the soul.

मैया पार्वती सुंदर रूप, जैसे खिलती खिली धूप। सोलह श्रृंगार सजे हैं भारी, जग जननी की महिमा न्यारी।

Transliteration

Maiya Parvati sundar roop, jaise khilti khili dhoop. Solah shringar saje hain bhaari, jag janni ki mahima nyaari.

Meaning / Translation

Mother Parvati's beautiful form is like the blooming sunlight. She is adorned with the sixteen traditional embellishments, and the glory of the Mother of the World is unique.

मंडप में बैठे शिव-गौरी, मधुर मधुर है प्रेम की लोरी। अग्नि के फेरे मंत्रों के साथ, जुड़ गया जीवन दोनों के हाथ।

Transliteration

Mandap mein baithe Shiv-Gauri, madhur madhur hai prem ki lori. Agni ke phere mantron ke saath, jud gaya jeevan dono ke haath.

Meaning / Translation

Shiva and Gauri sit under the wedding canopy, as a sweet lullaby of love plays. Walking around the sacred fire accompanied by mantras, their lives are joined together by hand.
