Agni Invocation (Agni Sukta)

अग्निमीळे पुरोहितं यज्ञस्य देवमृत्विजम् । होतारं रत्नधातमम् ॥

Transliteration

Agnīmīḷe purohitaṃ yajñasya devamṛtvijam | hotāraṃ ratnadhātamam ||

Meaning / Translation

I magnify Agni, the high priest, the divine ministrant of the sacrifice, the invoker, and the bestower of greatest treasures.

सहस्रशीर्षा पुरुषः सहस्राक्षः सहस्रपात् । स भूमिं विश्वा मनो अकल्पत ॥

Transliteration

Sahasraśīrṣā puruṣaḥ sahasrākṣaḥ sahasrapāt | sa bhūmiṃ viśvā mano akalpat ||

Meaning / Translation

The Cosmic Purusha has a thousand heads, a thousand eyes, and a thousand feet. He established the entire earth and the cosmic mind.

Invocation of the Divine Light (Savitri Mantra)

तत्सवितुर्वरेण्यं भर्गो देवस्य धीमहि । धियो यो नः प्रचोदयात् ॥

Transliteration

Tat savitur vareṇyaṃ bhargo devasya dhīmahi | dhiyo yo naḥ pracodayāt ||

Meaning / Translation

We meditate upon the adorable light of the divine Savitri; may it illumine and inspire our intellect.

ॐ पूर्णमदः पूर्णमिदं पूर्णात् पूर्णमुदच्यते । पूर्णस्य पूर्णमादाय पूर्णमेवावशिष्यते ॥

Transliteration

Om pūrṇamadaḥ pūrṇamidaṃ pūrṇāt pūrṇamudacyate | pūrṇasya pūrṇamādāya pūrṇamevāvaśiṣyate ||

Meaning / Translation

That is whole, this is whole. From the whole, the whole arises. Taking the whole from the whole, the whole still remains.
