घूमने का सर्वोत्तम समय

March to October for the most comfortable trek; Navratri (twice a year) is the grandest but most crowded time. Winter brings snow and cold at the top.

महत्व

Vaishno Devi is among the holiest and most visited Devi shrines in India, drawing well over ten million pilgrims a year. Legend tells of the goddess taking the form of a young girl, defeating the demon Bhairon, and merging into the cave as eternal energy, promising to fulfil the sincere wishes of all who seek her. The three pindis embody the trinity of goddesses whose combined grace bestows strength, prosperity and wisdom. The arduous uphill journey is seen as the mother's own call to her devotees.

परिचय

The shrine of Mata Vaishno Devi lies deep within a holy cave in the Trikuta hills above Katra, reached by a roughly 12–13 km trek (now aided by ponies, palanquins, battery cars, a cable car and even helicopters). Inside the cave, the goddess is worshipped not as an image but as three natural rock formations — the pindis of Maha Kali, Maha Lakshmi and Maha Saraswati — representing the united power of the Divine Mother. The pilgrim path, lit through day and night and echoing with devotional chants, is itself a transformative spiritual experience. The nearby Bhairavnath temple completes the traditional pilgrimage.
