The corridor renews and dignifies the approach to Kashi Vishwanath, the presiding Jyotirlinga of the world's holiest Hindu city. By linking the temple directly to the sacred Ganga, it restores the age-old union of the river and the Lord central to Kashi's spiritual life. It has made darshan and the Ganga Aarti more accessible to vast numbers of devotees. The development symbolises a modern reverence for India's timeless sacred heritage.

Inaugurated in December 2021, the Kashi Vishwanath Dham corridor sweeps over about five lakh square feet, creating a majestic processional route from the Jyotirlinga temple down to the Lalita and Manikarnika ghats on the Ganga. Where narrow, congested lanes once stood, there are now spacious plazas, viewing galleries, museums, ghats and facilities for the millions of pilgrims who visit each year. The project unveiled and restored dozens of small shrines that had been hidden among old buildings. It has given one of Hinduism's holiest precincts a setting worthy of its sanctity while preserving its ancient heart.
