परिचय
The Nandikeshwari temple at Sainthia in Birbhum district marks the Peetha where the necklace (kanthahaar) of Sati is believed to have fallen. The goddess Nandini is worshipped in the form of a stone smeared with vermilion, in a shrine that is one of the cluster of Shakti Peethas making Birbhum a heartland of Devi worship in Bengal. The temple is especially busy during Navratri, Kali Puja and Durga Puja.
