परिचय
The Jugadya (Yugadya) temple at Kshirgram in Purba Bardhaman district honours the Peetha where the right great toe of Sati is believed to have fallen. The goddess Jugadya is worshipped in a form kept largely submerged in a sacred tank, brought out for special worship, and the shrine is closely tied to the agrarian and devotional life of the region. It is part of the Bardhaman group of Shakti Peethas and draws devotees especially during Navratri and the local Jugadya festival.
