The Manibandh Shakti Peeth lies on the Gayatri hill overlooking the sacred lake town of Pushkar in Rajasthan. The goddess is worshipped here as Gayatri, the personification of the great Vedic mantra and the consort associated with Lord Brahma, whose only major temple in the world stands in Pushkar below. The shrine, reached by a climb up the hillside, offers sweeping views of the Pushkar valley and its holy lake, and is closely tied to the great Pushkar pilgrimage and the annual Kartik Purnima fair.
